Welcome to the Smithtown Democratic Committee

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you

- ask what you can do for your country.

Working together for Smithtown.

A Note from our Chair...

Hello All,

Welcome to the home page of the Smithtown Democratic Committee. I'm privileged to represent all Democrats in Smithtown, along with the many residents in our community who have chosen to become involved by joining the Smithtown Democratic Committee.  I encourage all to join us and become active in ensuring that our grassroots Democratic Party has a say in how our communities are governed.  By lending a hand with committee work, fund raising, and with our local campaigns, you ensure that your voice is heard.   Please consider adding your talents to this great organization.

If you care about good government and improving our quality of life in Smithtown, we want to work with you.

Sincerely,
Ed Maher

Petion Process Update - 07/11/10
Steve Israel is asking the Smithtown Democrats who are Notary Publics to help him qualify on the Independence Party Line as he runs for reelection.

This is an urgent matter and the Notary Publics who can go out and get Independence Line signatures today (Sunday), Monday and Tuesday should contact Kaitlin Gaughran ASAP at 631-766-4547, kaitlingaughran@gmail.com.

We all know what is at stake this year with the Congressional elections so it is critical that our committee does everything it can to keep Democrats in office.

Thanks,
Ed Maher
Chairman
Smithtown Democratic Committee

To the Committee,

The Petition Process:

The most important task for committee members are the petitions. Along with our candidates petitions, committee people will carry their own petitions this year.  For this reason it is critical that the Smithtown Democratic Committee get out into the EDs and collect as many signatures as possible.

This effort can also be used to lay the ground work for pulling out the vote in November and to recruit new people to the committee.

Committee people should keep their Zone Leaders informed of the status of their ED and please feel free to contact me if you have any comments or ideas.

Thanks,

Ed Maher
